Reb Yeshaye Schtroks OBM
Reb Yeshaya Schtroks was a sterling individual. Testimonials abound that pay tribute to his impact as a teacher, a friend, a neighbor, and a face in the community.
R’ Yeshaye was regarded by all as a Chassidishe man who conducted his life with sincerity and integrity. Reb Yeshaya took his Shlichus to heart. Whatever he felt was expected of him as a Yid and as a Chossid was necessary for his Talmidim as well. For over 26 years, he taught hundreds of students at Cheder Lubavitch Morristown to love Torah and Mitzvos while being a mentor and an inspiration to them. He threw himself into the chinuch of each child as a Yochid just as involved as he was in his own growth. Rabbi Schtroks was much more than a teacher, Rabbi Schtroks was an educator - par excellence. What Rabbi Schtroks gave his students was above and beyond information, it was seder, respect, diligence, chassidishkeit and above all, mentchlikeit. They learned more from the way that Rabbi Schtroks taught then from the lessons themselves. Children who had been within his charge had a indelible "stamp" that was clearly from his unique style. Reb Yeshaya's derech radiated warmth upon all who came within his sphere.
He was also known as a gifted baal menagen with a beautiful voice, and a man who motivated those around him to aspire to be better people.
He was the kindest, warmest, most gentle person we have ever known; The total devotion he had for his dear wife, and children is second to none; he was a husband, father, son, and teacher loved by so many; to know him was to love him;so many of us have been touched in our lifetimes by his warmth, his genuine care and concern, and above all, his smile, which we will always remember him by; you could almost say it was his trademark.
Rabbi Yeshaya Schtroks, beloved father, husband, community builder and remarkable teacher, passed away suddenly at the age of 55 on 30 Nissan 5772.
